Trying to lose weight for the New Year?
We all want to start the New Year off on the right foot.
It’s a time of change. A time for new thoughts and ideas.
We want to live the life that we want this year....to change our life for the better.
It starts with making decisions. Resolutions. A resolution is a firm decision to do something.
One of the most popular resolutions is to lose weight for the New Year and these tips can help make it just about effortless!
Here are six painless ways to lose weight:
Drink Water: Hunger is often confused with dehydration. Instead of a snack next time, try a glass of water. It has been shown that drinking water before meals promotes weight loss.
Eat Carbs - Real Carbs: Replace refined carbohydrates like white bread, pasta, bagels, cereal, and pretzels with complex carbohydrates from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes.
Eat Breakfast: By eating breakfast you will jumpstart your metabolism and reduce cravings. Studies show that eating breakfast is associated with maintaining a healthy weight.
Exercise: Aim to be active at least 30 minutes a day to help keep our body strong and lean. It doesn’t have to be a Peloton - any movement is better than none.
Proper Sleep: Research suggests that those who sleep five hours or less weigh five pounds more than those getting at least seven hours of sleep per night.
Learn to Cook: Cooking at home allows you to control portion sizes and quality of ingredients and cuts your intake of sodium, fat, and calories.
With these simple tips, we should be able to make our resolution last a lifetime. After all, that’s what we really want, isn’t it?
